I downloaded the trial of appzapper thinking that I'd actually try to keep my new macbook pro clean and get rid of the "hidden" files associated with other applications.
AppZapper, AppCleaner, CleanApp, TrashMe, and similar apps do not do a thorough job of removing all files/folders related to deleted apps. I tested several of these, using Skype as the app to be removed. Of 17 items to be removed:
AppZapper missed 13 items
AppCleaner missed 11 items
AppDelete missed 8 items
Hazel missed 9 items
I also tested AppTrap, CleanMyMac and a few others, but don't recall how many items they missed. All left files/folders behind. In most cases, they remove .plist files and a few others, but leave behind much larger files and folders. (you will find a discussion of these tests in the thread linked below)

One app that I would not recommend, based on the number of complaints that have been posted in this forum and elsewhere, is CleanMyMac. As an example: CleanMyMac cleaned too much (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=709930)

The only effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:

Now, when I try to open pdfs in Safari (to just view in the browser, and not download them), a dialog box opens asking me where adobe reader is because safari can't read the pdf. I can only download the pdf.

Has anybody heard about the possible early opening of Apple stores tomorrow? Rumor is that they will open at 9:00am. The store at The Gateway wont confirm this though...

I have called multiple times. Every time they say the usual 10:00 PM opening. I plan on calling again later.

Well you wont be able to put it on the original DVD... but if you have a SuperDrive, you can burn a new one.

I recomend DVDxDV. www.dvdxdv.com. You can extract the files from the DVD to your HD. Then you can import the files into iMovie and edit them... do w/e you want with them. Then iMovie sends it over to iDVD and you reburn the movie.

Understand???
I know I can't put it back on the original dvd. And if this program works like you say, It'll be perfect

What the heck are you talking about?! Aren't you feeling Mike Jones and 50 Cent?! :p

At the moment I'm really into MF DOOMs stuff, Masta Ace's 'A Long Hot Summer' and 'Disposable Arts', and Common's Be and Resurrection.

I really need to listen to ATCQ more, haven't given Midnight Marauders a spin in a while :(

Ofcourse I love 50 Cent and Co. I mean who could resist the irresistable charm of Fifty and his insightful lyrics about uhhh..........uhhh.....the club?

Yeah, underground is pretty much all that's remained of hip hop. Mf Doom has some really creative/weird material. Not really my taste but very unique nonetheless. Immortal Technique is one of the artists I've recentley gotten into.

I wonder if we started pooling some money together as a bounty for the first team to jailbreak it, if it would motivate more people to work on it. I wouldn't mind throwing in $20-30.

Either way I know I'm going to donate some to whatever team puts their release out first, it's really cool that these guys put in all their free time to do things like this. I can't wait to play some snes games with the wii classic controller pro on my iPad :D

I hope superbrothers sword and sorcery is good, I just bought it and I'm hoping it's as good as everyone says it is.

One other issue - I was importing some Nirvana songs, and the song and album titles were not coming up correctly as they were being imported. It would say "Track 01" instead of "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Nirvana is pretty common, and even though their albums are from the early 90's, I would expect iTunes to recognize the songs.

Any thoughts?

If one buys a $999 laptop, why would they give away a $499 iPad with it? That's half the price of the laptop and over double what they have done in the past. I don't see it happening, I'd be happy to be proven wrong though. I'd pick up a MacBook if they were giving away a free iPad with it.
