Yes you can say you didnt join them . Again, of all the cases i have heard , people at POE hasnt created any issue for H4 Re-entry.please take a one time appt with any good immigration att. so that you dont have to worry

It is a rosy but somewhat risky idea to submit AOS and I-140 concurrently. If the I-140 is rejected, so is the AOS. Premium processing helps take the guesswork out of the game (but only for the first I-140 applied using original LC) as you quickly come to know the fate of your I-140.
Cannot predict anything but my hunch is PP will be back in Oct 2007 for I-140's.

You are in a pretty tight spot my friend. I think a lawyer is the best person to answer these questions since you are walking a very fine line here. I dont want you to rely on advice on this forum and then later find out that you were out of status and that triggers another set of challenges to deal with later. So consult a lawyer and see if he/she feels that you can stay back in US pending H1 approval. Else I would advice moving out for 1 Yr and starting things on clean slate.

i verified with my lawyer, and they did not got it yet, hence i'm hoping its still with USCIS.
if they returned it, i guess we can still file when ever we get it back, even after aug 17th. as it is returned for wrong reasons

I have about 3 months left on H1b. From your post, it seems that I shud file for extension ASAP and if layoff happens...transfer H1..
Did I interpret you correctly?
When you apply for H1 transfer..they transfer the current H1.
If you have more than 6 months on ur H1 you cannot apply for extension..
when you file for transfer.
So better option would be:
a.) Transfer H1...and then file for extension.
b.) Or file for extension and then change jobs...
if you havent filed for 485.. then you have to restart the GC..and recapture your PD.... i used the option B.

If you've got six batteries in it, you're using the AA adapter in the MB-D100, which is notorious for very short life. You should be using the lithium ion batteries instead, which are more reliable. Even though the MB-D100 has space for two of the lithium batteries, you can use it with only one installed. Hope this helps.

I am sure many of you don't know about TANA organization ( www.tana.org ). TANA is held every 2 years in one of the major cities in US, and for 2009 TANA is scheduled to happen in Chicago.
"TANA IS GOING TO CELEBRATE 2009 CONFERENCE IN CHICAGO AT DONALD E STEPHENS CONVENTION CENTER, ROSEMONT FROM JULY 02, 2009 TO JULY 04, 2009. "
They usually get around 12,000 to 15,000 guest of Telugu speaking people. The point i would like to make is to increase the exposure of to IV, we need to put up a booth in TANA 2009. I have attended TANA organization committee meeting on Sunday, 29 2008 and have spoken to them about IV. TANA has several stage shows, booth for business , food stalls and much more. TANA Chicago org will be needing some help( not sure what at this time ). but if we can help them so that they give us some exposure in the TANA 2009. it will be really great.
Secondly, we can have our own booth which will cost some money we can get lot of publicity.
This is just a idea and a i think it is a win-win for both of us. Let me know what you guys think.

Let me try to make a humble suggestion here - why don't you try writing a really short and direct letter, so that even the laziest guy cannot help but read it?
For example:
Respected Mr. Senator
I would like to draw your attention to the bill <blah blah> which is very important from the point of view of people waiting in line to be legal immigrants
I wish that you lend your valuable support to this bill as it will help eliminate the backlogs and delays in issuing green cards to people from retrogressed countries like myself. This is essential to ensure that all people are treated equally irrespective of their country of birth

If you are referring to my earlier mail about NIH, it is not a university but an umbrella term for 12 + National Institutes of Health. The institutions are completely funded by and part of the federal government. If there are immigrant investigators working there as staff members, they should at least have GC already. But, postdocs and other 'glorified' staff positions require either J1, H1, EAD from NIH or employed in such visas by contracting staffing companies.
If any IV member works in the university, could you find out if there are any Indian and chineese assistant professors that have joined in the recent past. Such people might have applied in EB2 through university and will be retrogressed.
Also pls get in touch with post-docs in your universities and inform them about IV. Hopefully some of them might be willing to help us with the interview.

EB-3-I is stuck in 01...not likely to move till Oct and then in OCT08..it will move by couple three months for the next 12 months till OCT 09..What are the option for EB-3 stuck here..from 01, 02, 03 ....
1) Convert to EB-2 ?.
2) wait for legislation from Logfren to pass
3) wait another 3 years...already in the Queue from 01..
If I choose to convert to EB-2..I have to put in a PERM and then I-140..what is the time line for getting my LC thro PERM and then my I-140 in EB2 cleared?? based on the current processing times..
Do I wait to see if Logfren's legislation goes thro ..if doesnt go with the conversion to EB-2...???
Please help me decide...
