i'm in the process of setting up a website for a client which will be offering paid services (fitness related) through their website, and would like some advice on what would be the best, and possibly cheapest way (for the client) to do this in order to accept payments for different services.
should i use a shopping cart based system? would they need some special certificate/license to accept credit cards?
paypal or google checkout?
i also need it to send some kind of a receipt to the customer which would give a very detailed description of what they're getting, how much it costs, etc. i've browsed around through different sites and found one that utilized paypal where it had a drop down menu where you could pick one option and then you could click pay now button, and it would allow you to pay for that. is the drop down menu something that's generated in paypal itself?
also looking for some way to implement an agreement checkbox, so that when a user clicks the agree to terms checkbox, they can then press submit button to accept the terms of service, etc.
sorry i'm being vague, because i'm still not 100% sure of how i'll be doing this myself.

Nice. I was getting so annoyed at the guys in the tukwila thread talking about how cool they are.
I'll be there. 12:00 AM? I'm a black friday veteran but I think you may be overestimating things a tad. I'll be there at three.
I saw people setting up camp the night before at 9:00 PM. I don't want to be that far towards the end and besides I'm going to be working while camping out so it's win/win :)

I hope it is alright to post a link here. I'm not a forum expert, but I get the feeling it's against the rules. If it's wrong, I'll delete my post. But anyhow, I read this command for terminal which should resize partitions without loosing data on http://www.macworld.com/article/55274/2007/02/marchgeekfactor.html
The fact that I can't resize that partition looks more like an UI problem in Disk Utility rather than something physically impossible. I mean, if you could resize your primary partition if you deleted a secondary, why not the other way around?

VPC is great for compatibility with easy-on-the-processor Windows programs (small database apps and the like), but if you want to play any sort of modern game, you won't get any kind of decent performance with VPC. I've heard of some people playing games from years ago with success, but as many will tell you, don't even bother to try .. it's just too slow.

Hi there,
if he's into dance stuff then Reason is a fairly good bet. The company is Propellorheads. Software is called "Reason".
Generally speaking, though, if you want top quality production software, get Logic by Emagic (now owned by apple)

these sell for 1800 new... they also come with a $300 ipod touch and a $100 printer. i would be willing to offer 1500, but i dont really think it is worth more than that.

My 16GB Black iPhone always showed as 13.9 GB available but my white iPhone showed 14 GB available when I got it. Confusing. Muh.

Are you on 10.6.7?
Yes, I update'd to latest. I am suprised that no one else is having this issue.

I mean, I really doubt it is, it was in my pocket today when someone splashed water on me, but I doubt very much touched it if at all.
It's starting to get really weird, like the home button will work for a little bit and then voice control will randomly activate and then I'll lose control of the phone and it'll act like I'm screwing with the home button (the quick-start menu will pop up, it'll switch black-and-white mode, voice control, etc...)
Maybe it is water damage? I mean, the phone wasn't wet or anything, how would I know?
That would explain it though cause those symptoms come with water damage.
Check your moist sensors one is on the bottom of the phone where it plugs in and the other on the top where the headphone wire goes.

Completely misleading. iPad runs a mobile OS that's much less CPU intensive. The iPad is not five times slower in performing everyday tasks like web browsing, e-mail, word processing, etc.
I agree with you that for many of us who need only light use at work every day, the iPad is every bit the competitor to a lightweight net book type of device.
With these kinds of light, but urgent needs, the iPad can be a lot quicker to use than a netbook. It powers up instantly and allows you to to work quickly, then shuts down easily and quickly to allow you to get on with whatever else it was that you were doing in the field.
I'm not saying it replaces a net book or laptop for all of us or even most of us, but if your main purpose on a particular day makes carrying a heavier device difficult, or you are in the field and need something ultimately portable and sturdy, the iPad is a great thing to have around.
We're lucky we have so many great products to pick from, whether you're in the Apple camp or somebody else's camp.

I think a few other people have mentioned that too - I experience the same problem, but always on my Mini-DisplayPort monitor, not the Mini-DVI (I have the 2009 Mini).
I take it powering off/on the monitor is sufficient to bring it back to life? That typically works for me.
Duh, I've never tried that. I've always put the computer back to sleep and wake it up again, or change that monitors resolution, and change it back (if I can access that menu). I'll try to power cycle the monitor next time. Thanks!

Another thing. I think we should always remember to put in the the source for images and photos that is uploaded and make sure we have permission to use those. Will keep us from getting into trouble later. :p

I attempted to use this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=47705) sticky. Note, a lot of the links are dead. Also, you are asking someone for advice that admitted they probably didn't do it right.

well i can think of one thing to do but its pretty improvised... set the home button to "take screenshot" and use a tweak to take out the flash. too bad there isn't a "do nothing" option for the home button as that would make it much easier...
Imo, you should get your home button fixed.
