The new Little Brother album is worth checking out...
MF Doom is a genius...
A Long Hot Summer was one of the best albums from last year no doubt...
Midnight Marauders is my third favourite album of all time (after Illmatic and The Infamous)

Didn't know of that one. How does it run? Any problems?
I'm always a little careful when it comes to third party things on OS X as you never know what Apple might do in their next OS update.
That being said, I'm running ZFS systems (BSD/Solaris) for years now and absolutely like the system, never on OS X, though.
It runs on an old but stable release based on onnv_74, which provides zpool version 8 and zfs version 2, so it doesn't include RAID-Z2, RAID-Z3 or any of the newer functions, which is why I am very interested in Ten's Complements up-to-date version. It's an external kext, so it shouldn't suffer from anything when Apple updates Mac OS X.
It's solid in my experience and there have not been a single case of lost data in the project's history (knock on wood) :)
I'm using it on one of our Mac Pro's running Mac OS X Server (10.6) and haven't encountered any problems, other than lacking some features. Well, the most important feature is, of course, Copy-on-Write and the other features that enables the high data integrity. Got to love the zfs snapshot command!

Quite a lot of us own Apple products in Madagascar; we have an Apple store in Antananarivo, as well. You'd be surprised. Have you visited SW Africa?

Does it have a self-assigned IP when it drops out?
If so, try renaming your wireless network. This has fixed this issue a number of times for me recently.

Hey guys,
I have a G3 iMac (2001 Slot Loading, OS 10.3.9) that will not accept the Memorex CD-RW Rewritable disks I bought. Is there something I can do to format these so they work?
Thanks!
Heather

As a professional web designer here is my input, take it for what it is worth:
Pros:
-Improved, more modern look with the tabs
-Compatibility
-Size of HTML file
Cons:
-Too much information coming at you at once with three columns instead of two
-Larger Google Ads
-Still not remotely consistent with the mac fourms in terms of style
-Addition of additional color (light blue), which makes 4 (red, tan, white, and now blue)
Overall, a good start, but there is still a lot more asthetic work to be done.

Is it supposed to be a hardware fix and a new edition of the PS3 or will it be some sort of firmware fix.
Has the current PS3 even got a proper hardware scaler ? If not it will have to be hardware update.

Don't even bother looking for a computer with the Adobe Suite preinstalled, trust me I'm willing to bet that 99% of those preinstalled copies are pirated. No one in their right minds would sell their computer with a legitimate $2500 software suite that can only be installed on one computer at a time.
Might as well pirate it yourself if you're really going that far, you can always use the 30-day trials too.

Anyone going on Friday intend to tweet the line size and such? That'll help me determine if I head down Friday night or Saturday :)
You think they will restock on Saturday?

The first adapter is what I use to connect to my MB i7 now (i.e., going from Dual-Link to MiniDisplay). Unfortunately, the PC is a laptop with a VGA port (no Dual-Link DVI). So I guess that offers a second option, which using a Dual-Link DVI female to VGA mail adapter. Would that work?
no, for at least a couple of reasons
i) the mini displayport to VGA adapter is passive, it means that it's designed to hook up vga displays to a mac with mini displayport and nothing else.
ii) VGA resolution is limited to 1920*1200, while the cinema display is 2560*1600
plus, if your video card has only one VGA port, it's probably too old to push so many pixels smoothly. Consider an upgrade.
EDIT: I've just read that you want to connect your laptop, not a desktop. sorry, there no solution in this case. :(

As per the diagram, it's correct (hard to follow the wire colors as the bend around, but it looks right in terms of location as well as color). :)
What you're asking about (backplane cable that splits into two separate connectors with 4 wires for power) do exist (here (http://www.pc-pitstop.com/sas_cables_adapters/I2917-05M.asp)). It's not as clean IMO, but functional, and at least from this link, is more expensive (would have expected it to be cheaper, as they're used more often in PC's). If you look, I suspect you'll be able to locate it cheaper (just make sure you've more than 2 wires on the power connector - only get it if it has 4 power wires).
As per soldering, it's not hard, particularly soldering 2 wires together (buying a stick soldering iron, heat shrink tubing and solder won't be that expensive; should be able to manage it for under $20USD <example (http://www.amazon.com/Weller-SP23LK-Marksman-Watt-Soldering/dp/B0009ZD2AG)>, and it's handy for other projects). You can get a pack of heatshrink tubing from Walmart for under $5USD, and stay around the $20USD mark (as I assume you don't have any of the equipment or supplies to do it based on your aversion to soldering).

I may be incorrect, but wouldn't a System run off an external run really slow? Unless the external is connected via Firewire, or Thunderbolt >:D

Hey guys, I seem to have gotten myself into quite a little unfavorable situation. My computer was going through some irregularities so I decided to reinstall the OS. I popped in my Mac OS X 10.4 Disc 1 disc and proceeded. I later found out that my Disc 2 was no where to be found, and that my computer would remain at a standstill until I find Disc 2. So I tried to use the one Tiger DVD that came with my other Mac, but that didn't work.
Is there anything I can do? My girlfriend has Mac OS X 10.4.2 Disc 1 & 2; would the Disc 2 of 10.4.2 work with my current re-installment of 10.4?
And lastly, do you think I could bring my Mac to the Apple Store and see if they have a corresponding disc, so that I may finish installing the OS?
If you guys/gals have any advice or thoughts, they are very much welcomed
Thanks.

help!
I just got done upgrading my G4 B&W to Tiger (fresh install) and I decided to get this comptuer back folding again. I ran the little single processor install script that is linked in the folding FAQ to get it installed and running.
Now for some reason, every time I open Terminal, it calls the Install script. I deleted the install script, but it still tries to open it every time I open a new terminal window, and I get the following.
Last login: Thu Jun 23 09:57:48 on ttyp1
Welcome to Darwin!
Yosemite:~ USERr$ /Volumes/single/.setup/script.command; exit
-bash: /Volumes/single/.setup/script.command: No such file or directory
logout
[Process completed]
Here is what I attempted to do to resolve my issue, which none have fixed
1. Install and run the script again.
2. Change the default shell from the terminal prefrences.
Does anyone know what file I need to edit to get a normal shell, and to have the system stop trying to call the install script?
Thanks for any help!
I thought my Linux experience would help here, but I am lost!
