CHRISTIAN DIOR -Haute Couture Fall Winter 2010/2011
John Galliano produces a couture show the way it’s meant to be: visuallystunning and technically masterful. This year Christian Dior kicked off couture with a collection in full bloom. Drawing inspiration from nature, Galliano sculpted his designs into tulips, pansies and ruched petals that fanned out into whimsical skirts. There are no words for this presentation except absolutely tunning. Galliano set the bar high capturing the essence and pure beauty of flowers with degrade wisps of chiffon and fluttering silk foliage . The designer knows no other format than complete commitment to an idea, a defined vision. The runway sprang to life in a garden of delicate pleats and ruffles. Daywear was transformed, pairing wardrobe staples—fitted blazers, jackets and knee-length frocks— with extravagant lilac covered skirts, feathery separates and organza blossoms all arranged to translate nature through fashion. A string of black gowns closed the show bursting with crimson and marigold, pale pink and lavender and finally indigo, rose and violet all flourished into bouquets of tulle.
