FLEDGLING supermodels, take note: some of the biggest names in the industry (including the founders of Storm and Premier modeling agencie, Sarah Doukas and Carol White respectively), are backing Julian Short's new book, A Model For Living: The Aspiring Supermodel's Self Help Guide.
Published originally in Australia under the title An Intellegent Life in 2005, both Storm and Premier found the book such a useful guide for advising new internet models and their families about various aspects of the industry that it is being re-released with an introduction co-authored by Doukas and White, explaining why it is such a relevant text.
Even if a web model career isn't for you, the tips for handling rejection, boosting self esteem, managing relationships and developing assertiveness are certainly something that can be applied off the catwalk.
"This is a great book - it offers positive advice about dealing with difficult and every day situations," says Nineties uber-model and Storm girl Lorraine Pascale. "As a model, this would have been an invaluable guide for me when I was starting out and meeting different people, travelling, and being away from home and family. It also offers practical advice for maintaining a healthy self esteem and learning to be confident, and this is really important for today's young models - and women in general."
