My husband received a �Transfer Notice� for his I-485 from TSC. This is what the notice says.
"Preliminary Processing of the application has been completed, and it has been transferred to USCIS-NBC, Lee's summit , MO 64064. The office will notify you when they schedule an interview on the application."
Here is brief history.
My PD is July-04 in EB2. I am the primary applicant and I am on H1. My husband was on H4 and now he is on EAD. My I-485 was filed in NSC, and then moved to TSC. Here are my ?s.
1. What is meant by �Preliminary Processing of the application has been completed�? What is completed actually?
2. I did not receive any such notice so far, is it quite normal?
3. Came to US on L1 blanket visa and didn�t submit the approval notices for my husband, since there is no separate approval notices for the dependents coming on L blanket visa. May be is it, because of this?
4. My husband had a DUI in March 2003, and that case was closed. It was a misdemeanor, and not a felony. Is this notice because of my husband�s DUI record?
5. Also, I raised �Expedite Service Request� twice, because of my husband�s serious heart condition, and faxed the medical letter to uscis as a proof , however this request got rejected both the times. May be, is it to verify the medical condition?.
6. Will something related to my AOs be decided based on how we answer.
7. Can I accompany my husband for the interview?

Can you provide some more information on the AILA liaison meetings? Excuse my ignorance but I have never heard of it before.
Can we ask AILA to support the letter campaign? Specifically, can we ask AILA to push for recapturing 218K unused visas and clarification on how they might be allocated, if recaptured?

It is my understanding that these liaison meetings are to discuss specific administrative and procedural issues at the service centers (not to discuss major reform). To get an idea of the topics covered see http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?bc=6721|6727
The docs themselves are available to AILA members only but you can see the topics discussed.
So to the extent that you have specific questions about the adjudication process itself you can send them to an AILA member and ask them to submit those questions to the AILA Liaison committee which may or may not choose to ask that question in the liaison meeting with USCIS -- each session has specific sub topics so they don't address every question out there.
Recapture and other major changes to the law are likely handled by other committees at AILA.

So u are saying if she uses her EAD/ AP then my H1b is no longer valid? BTW she got her h1b visa in the lottery earlier this year.
Spouse using EAD, has no affect on your H1.
My wife has H1B and she got EAD now. She plans to use her EAD soon, so H1 status gets automatically canned.

I would be appreciated, if people returning at NJ Airports can post their experiences of Successful re-entry . That would definitely be helpful to all other people, who will have to travel, in case of Emergency.
I and my wife entered successfully at EWR, end of Feb this year. I'm on my 7 year on H1-B that was stamped just a month ago in Ottawa Consulate in Canada. Also, I had new passport renewed from India. My Visa was stamped on my old passport that was expiring in Dec 2009.
My wife is in her 4th year (2nd extension) of H1-B and her Visa was stamped as well, a month ago at Ottawa Consulate.
There were no issues at all at POE. We were asked what we did at our respective companies, but were not asked for any letter etc. Both of us are permanent employees in our companies.
Feel free to PM me if you have any specific question regarding our POE experience at Newark Airport.

Hi,
After reading about the pro's and cons of EAD e-file and paper based. I found that when you paper file I765, you DONOT get a fingerprinting notice and you DONT need to give FP. You will get your EAD directly. With e-file you dont send in the photos but u will have to go do the fingerprints and photo taken..
Can anyone confirm this?

I can confirm this based on recent chat with my attorney. Attorney e-filed my EAD without any photographs and I have already got FP notice in mail.

It takes about 1 to 2 weeks for the information from FBI to be tied to your case. So when your SR was raised, the inormation might not have been available yet.
So, if you do not get greened by end of this month, raise another SR request or take an Infopass.

What is the relation between a 3 year H1B Approval granted on an approved I-140 and the underlying I-140 petition ? Specifically, what happens if an employee leaves the company, are the remaining years (out of 3 granted originally) still valid ? What happens if the original employer revokes/cancels the underlying peition on which the extension was originally granted ? Is the H1B petition based on a an approved I-140 linked to that I-140 in anyway once it (H1B petition) is approved ? Please indicate any laws or precedents that can clarify the implications of the above scenarios.

As for mailing address, I guess if I do courier the package they all have the same address (N. augustine rd). So in that case, I can send them all in the same packet.

Ever since they made I-131 online, its always been a mess. The form usually shows an expired date, and there are lot of glitches applying online. I was hoping USCIS would have improved their system by not since its been online for more than a yr now. But I guess just like the backlogged applications everything moves slow in USCIS.
