When you said reject, what do you mean?
Will CIS reject before issuing RN or after issuing RN?

(3) Allegedly, the USCIS pull together local and Service Center employees and pull out pending I-485 cases which were older than six months in backlog, working overtime and during the weekend right before July 1, 2007. This is an assumption at this point. (4) As evidenced by the revised Visa Bulletin, apparently these employees contacted "en mass" the DOS to request the visa numbers for these pending I-485 cases, which the DOS reported in the release of the revised VB turned out exceeding 60,000. (5) The rule requires that the USCIS approves I-485 cases "prior to" to contacting and requesting a visa number. (6) The current USCIS policy and procedure also require that I-485 applications be adjudicated and approved "only after" the completion of clearance of the security checks.

I am EB3 India working for a small company in construction design industry. I have enough experience, qualifications and degree for an EB2. But it is not as simple as you make it sound.
A major part- 8 out of my 15 year experience in this field has been with this employer and although my employer supports me, they are simply not hiring and have been having a difficult time since 2007. So, they cannot file for an EB2 Labor.
I cannot change jobs, since my qualifications and experience will put me in a different job-description and title which I cannot because of how AC21 interprets the laws.
So it is not as white and black as you make it sound. Most EB3 folks started their process way early in their careers and have moved on since. Some of us have been waiting for 10 years and have been in the country for 15 or more years.
Some started during the last recession in 2001-2002 when EB2 was in scrutiny and dates were current for all, most employers and lawyers were touting the EB3 route.
Anycase, I do not expect you to understand our situation. So continue speeding on your path of joy.

Guys we need to see the staff of 4 people. Congresswoman Zoe Logfen, Senator John Cornyn , Senator Arlen Specter and Senator Gillibrand. I have spoken to the offices of 2 of these Lawmakers, and they have always shown the understanding of this issue. as you may know recently elected NY Senator Gillibrand mentioned about 'some country people waiting for 8 years', this tells her understanding of the situation.
I have 4 people sent me emails, It would be good if we can make a group of about 20 people...It'll also help if people of these 4 states come forward...

Buying a house is treated more as an investment (so you are told by the mortgage brokers) and like any investment it has its ups and downs. The OP probably wanted to get into this down market to get a house at a far lower price that what it used to be 10 months back ( similar to buying stocks now if you want to play long ). I really don't see a point lambasting OP for that choice, it's an individual decision.
However, I also do believe that one has to weigh in their options before they plan to make an investment. If you are expecting a kid and your wife is planning on taking time off work to raise the kid, it's probably not a good idea to get such a huge loan on one's back since it's a well known fact, it's going to take some time before anyone see any +ve value on their house prices. It's also imperative in this market to have a decent cash reserve , in case there is no dual income to cover for expenses in case of a job loss. If someone didn't do it, no use crying now !

Last year my wife (who is on H4) but with a valid US visa stamp on her passport was NOT allowed to board a Continental Airlines flight at Houston airport on her way to India. She was sent home even though she had valid US visa in passport as she did not have UK Transit visa.
We tried pour level best to convince the ppl at the flight desk but they wouldnt let her check in because of transit visa issues. So please be very careful while transiting through London. We had to pay and reroute via Paris the next day.

Airport transit implies staying within the airport for not more than 24 hours, without crossing the immigration. This applies to those passengers also who may be required to stay in the aircraft during the transit time.

Donot abuse the word "Ethnic cleansing". Our situation is nowhere close to being called that.
Whatever is happening right now is Darwin's theory at work - "Survival of the fittest".
Boom in financials, jobs that were spawned by housing, all needs to be corrected.

Boom in financials, jobs that were spawned by housing, all needs to be corrected.

It is a painful long journey. Remember there are always alternatives, just be prepared and dont put all your eggs in one basket. I did that once GC, House and School all supported by one job and when I was laid off all came crashing.

Is this article a systematic effort on the part of CNN to propagandize the Dobbs doctrine of immigrant bashing?
We rallied and marched for relief from the permanent residency process (green cards as you call them) and not for an increase in H1B.

Another question - Once she gets on EAD does she have to get paid for 'x' number of period (Say 15 day or a month0 on EAD? And then when she re-enters on h1b (Nov 15 2009) then she will get paid from Nov 15 - Dec 31, so for year 2009 she will just have Jan month and 15 Nov till Dec 31 2009 on w-2. Is that fine since all the other time she was on EAD or out of country.
In case of a dependant 485 there is no requirement to be paid on EAD.

Million thanks to IV's superior organization. I am glad that my friends and I attended this event. It's just a little sad to see the local news channels reported the small protests by illegal immigrants in the Prince William County in MD but not our well-organized rally. Many people passing by us still think we are undocumented. I fully support the ideas from other members that we should highlight "LEGAL" everywhere.

You might get your GC while you are at the retirement home....
Do not get me wrong ....140 crore Rupees [EAD & AP Renewal] just for pending 485 is not an small amount.....
they will be another July 2007 fiasco in 2010.....so that another 200K people board the non stop flight for GC destination......so that 140 Crore becomes 280 Crore Rupees....those 2000 hired by USCIS in 2007 will be waiting for salary hike ....:D
