thank you, I think I will wait...
As for the fan issue--when I watch a YouTube videos the fans go crazy, it's really the only time I use the Air that I ever hear the fans.
I know I'm not the only one who has this problem, as I've read on this forum about the issue but have not seen any fix for it yet.
Sorry, there wont be any software fix for your fan issue.

Definately not as intuitive as a scroll whell but if Apple couldn't/can't implement it with its engineering prowess I doubt anyone else could.

I made and saved a preset seems to work pretty good. Changed the RF setting to "1". It seems that its working better with this setting. Still sometimes when using iTunes it gets a little blocky only at first, but not through VLC player. It might be an issue with iTunes. Otherwise this setting seems to work pretty good. Ty for the advice, I'm still open to more if anyone has any.

I was reading into OSX lion and apple states this:
''Multi-Touch gestures make everything you do on iPad easy and intuitive. Now a richer Multi-Touch experience comes to the Mac. Enjoy more fluid and realistic gesture responses, including rubber-band scrolling, page and image zoom, and full-screen swiping. In Mac OS X Lion, every swipe, pinch, and scroll looks and feels more responsive and lifelike.''
So how does this differ from the current use of the trackpads for macbooks? they can already swipe, pinch, scroll and zoom. So how is this different? Is it just more fluid and sensitive? Or am I looking at an awesome upgrade to the mac trackpad? (which is already far superior to a mouse!!)

Yes, it is. Just create a HFS+ partition and install Lion there.

You could make a Tetris-themed one the same way.
That was my first thought too.

By creating an Alternate OS thread if people wanted to yap about Android/Windows/Etc they could go there and keep the other threads clear.
No, it wouldn't. People don't bother to post relevant replies in the proper "mega threads" in the first place (take a look at the daily "Just got my MBP" threads as an example). Plus, Android/Windows/whatever threads are often on different enough topics that merging them would cause accusations of stifling discussion of alternative OSs.

I've noticed that these now don't work with USB DVD drives for the Bootcamp thing. Like you said this is a REAL drag for the Optibay crowd.
But as far as your MS issues go, try using Winclone to make an image of Bootcamp and experiment. Sometimes these things can be inexpicable.

Wow, I got Firefox to open after downloading older version of Firefox again. Can't believe it. I am not relieved and happy. Thanks Mactouros for your advice too!
I already had Firefox 3.6.17 running on here but after i downloaded it again, it says this -
Youre now running Firefox 3.6.17.
For security reasons, we recommend downloading the latest and greatest version.
Yeah, that's normal if you're running any Firefox prior to Firefox 4.

I like it, too. It looks much more modern. There is a lot of info but as arn mentioned, that could be good or bad. Once I get used to it, it'll be good.

Hi
I am trying to load an URL in WebView and I am getting an error "Browser not Supported. Please try a more recent version, or a different browser."
URL that I am trying to load (model)
https://xxxxx.xxxxxxxxxxxx.com/Vendor?xxxxx=none&xxxxxxx=none&xxx=3456&xxxx=4322&username=yyyy&password=*****
Code that I am using to load is
NSString *urlText ;
urlText = @"https://xxxxx.xxxxxxxxxxxx.com/Vendor?xxxxx=none&xxxxxxx=none&xxx=3456&xxxx=4322&username=yyyy&password=*****";
[[webView mainFrame] loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:urlText]]];
Can someone help me what is wrong in my code ? Or do I need to Upgrade. I may machine Safari is the default browser. But if use the browser to load this URL works fine I am facing issue only with the WebView at the same time other sites like www.google.com and others are working well.
Thanks
Siva

Thank you for the suggestion. Running FSCK came back with non-repairable errors and now the machine won't boot into OS X. So, I'm going to just put a new hard drive in the computer.

no argument here - but i hate the fact android manufacturers are restricting their phones with encrypted bootloaders etc (motorola, and now htc) which definitely affects being able to flash your device with whatever. not to mention with att's android devices you have to root them to even be able to install the amazon market due to even more restrictions. also waiting forever for the latest android update to go from google -> manufacturer -> mobile provider -> customer... with each putting their own crapware on it
if i ever make the switch, it will hopefully be to a google released and supported phone on at&t. i know the nexus s is a samsung device, but at least it receives pushed google updates.
but i feel you, i get frustrated with all of this too. if it wasnt for jbing, i would have ditched the phone long ago.
Yeh, some manufacturers are making it harder to Root, but Root DOESN'T equal Jailbreak. The Android os (speaking on 2.3) has built in hotspot, built in widgets, built in moving backgrounds, built in customizable screens, built in facebook, built in lock screen custimization, built in keyboards, systemwide voice activation, etc. There are things that people want to jailbreak for, and in Android OS you don't have to ROOT to do any of that.

You need to add Joe Smith to your address book and then you will be able to pull him up by name. What it's doing now is pulling up previously used email addresses. You can right click on the email address in the "To:" field and add to address book.
